Minnesota Spray Foam Insulation was started in the spring of 2001 by it’s current owner, Jay R. The company offered spray applied open cell and closed cell foam and also blown-in attic insulation. In 2004 a second spray rig was added to keep up with the increasing demand for a more energy efficient insulation product.
Along with the addition of more equipment came the need for 3 more employees. As the demand kept increasing the company was forced to grow as well. In 2006 a third spray rig was added and was used mainly in the Brainerd Lakes area and north.
In June of 2007 the business moved it’s present location along I-94 in Albany, MN. There are currently 8 employees working out of the Albany location. In September of 2007 a fourth spray was added for applying roofing foams over large, flat commercial roofs.
In November of 2007 Minnesota Spray Foam Insulation opened a shop in the The Northern Pacific Center in east Brainerd. Mike House was hired as the branch manager. There are currently 4 employees working out of the Brainerd location. In the spring of 2008 the company invested in equipment to apply the URE_K (sprayed cellulose) thermal barrier system over foam insulation.
Minnesota Spray Foam Insulation offers both closed cell and open cell polyurethane foam insulation, fiberglass batt/blanket insulation, net-n-blown fiberglass and blown attic insulation. We also have insulation vacuums available for the removal of attic insulation.
The increasing demand for spray applied roofing foams and acrylic coatings on flat roofs has also helped the growth of the company. The roofing foam and coatings offers a seamless seal as well as a additional insulation to a flat roof.

In April of 2009 Minnesota Spray Foam Insulation added Josh Seidel to their sales team for the Alexandria & Ottertail area.
In spring of 2009 Minnesota Spray Foam Insulation added a new blow truck to the fleet of there trucks.
In spring of 2010 Minnesota Spray Foam Insulation added a weatherization crew.
In fall of 2010 Minnesota Spray Foam added a new foam rig to there fleet.
In February of 2011 Minnesota Spray Foam Insulation added Joel Richter to their sales team for the St. Cloud & cities area
As of June of 2011 they currently have 4 foam rigs & 3 fiberglass rigs. They service all of Minnesota with 3 locations (Albany, Brainerd, Alexandria)

Minnesota Spray Foam services the St Cloud MN area as well as other areas in Central Minnesota. We have offices located in Albany, Alexandria, and Brainerd. We have done insulation projects in St Cloud, Minneapolis, Alexandria, Brainerd, Ottertail, Battle Lake, Fergus Falls, Glenwood, Long Prairie, Parkers Prairie, Wadena, Morris, Benson, Appleton, Willmar, Spicer, Hoffman, Herman, Wheaton, Sauk Centre, Osakis, Pelican Rapids, and Detroit Lakes.
Our service area covers all of Minnesota and also includes North Dakota, South Dakota, & Wisconsin.
We have a variety of products for each application: roof foam, roofing coating, closed cell foam, open cell foam, fiberglass batts, and fiberglass & cellulose attic insulation.
Our product include: basf, poly urethane, closed cell foam, open cell foam, insulation, attic insulation, fiberglass batts, integra foam, guardian, owens corning, applegate, cellulose, certainteed, lapolla, bayer, bay systems, icynene.
We are currently working with Habitat for Humanity on a case study in Alexandria, MN. We are in the process of studying the performance of foam insulation vs fiberglass insulation. We have two identical houses located side by side, one with fiberglass wall insulation and the other with spray foam insulation. We will begin tracking results when the second house with the spray foam insulation is finished in July? We will report our findings soon.
