The true performance of your building system cannot be measured with the R-value of the insulation alone. You must also consider air movement, moisture control, health, safety, and durability .
Minnesota Spray-Foam Insulation is a full service insulation company that meets the insulation requirements for both new construction and improvements to existing structures.

Closed Cell Foam

Closed-cell, spray-applied polyurethane foam insulation creates a seamless air barrier. An insulated air barrier improves the energy efficiency of your home or project.
Closed-cell foam requires no vapor barrier and will not absorb moisture. When properly applied, it will not allow condensation between the foam and the surface to which it is applied. While reducing the risk of accumulation of moisture, it is helpful in mold prevention.

The Closed-cell foam product used by Minnesota Spray-Foam Insulation is a formaldehyde and lead-free formula that emits no volatile organic compounds, and does not emit VOCs. Off-gassing from this product has been measured at 0.0001 parts per million. The installed product is inert.
Closed-cell foam when dried and cured will add structural strength in addition to increasing the R-value in your walls, floors or ceilings. This is true whether your project is as small as a fish house, or a large commercial building.

Open Cell Foam
Open-cell foam does require a vapor barrier, and is for ‘Above Grade’ use.

Spray applied, open-cell foam creates an air tight seal, and is great for sound control! For interior walls of family/game rooms, home-theaters, or nursery walls, this is a great way to get extra insulation and to soften those sounds between rooms in your new home.

Roofing Foam
The roofing system used by Minnesota Spray-Foam Insulation is a sustainable, highly performing system that requires little to no maintenance. The spray-applied roofing system is self-adhering and may be applied directly to existing substrates, eliminating tear-off, waste going to landfills and interior exposure to the weather. This system is seamless and requires no fasteners, while providing superior insulating properties.

The closed-cell foam roofing system offers advantages over traditional roofing or single-ply roofing systems. The spray-applied system conforms to irregular shapes; and fills cracks, gaps, holes and seams. This system improves on insulation performance and gives air leakage control, while providing a weather resistant roof. When the spray applied roofing system reaches the end of the service life, it can simply be re-coated and renewed for many more years of service.

Thermal & Ignition Barrier Coatings
FLAME SEAL-TB- Flame Seal-TB ™ (aqueous based resin) is a spray applied fire protective intumescent coating, which satisfies thermal barrier/ignition barrier requirements of the IBC code when applied over Spray Polyurethane Foam insulation.

Minnesota Spray-Foam Insulation applies Spraycoat 1920 ignition barrier for attics and crawl spaces. Spraycoat 1920 coating is an ignition barrier coating for interior sprayed polyurethane foam insulation. It is a water based latex system and cures within 24 hours. It provides a long term protective shield to prevent direct impingement of a flame source on the spray-applied polyurethane foam surface.

Fiberglass Insulation
Minnesota Spray-Foam Insulation is fully qualified and experienced in insulating with fiberglass. We are able to offer Blown-in Blanket or Loose-Fill Attic Insulation. Loose-Fill insulation is made up of small fibers of fiberglass, cellulose, foam or mineral wool. Materials for loose fill insulation are made from recycled materials such as newsprint or glass. This type of insulation works well in areas where it is difficult to install other types of insulation.

Attic Vacuums
For older homes that have settled insulation in the attic, an attic restoration is one way to increase on energy savings and have less heat loss. For damage due to storms, fire or water, the old insulation should be vacuumed out and replaced with new clean insulation. Minnesota Spray-Foam Insulation has attic vacuums for those projects, and can help you restore your attic correctly.
